One Year Ago Today…

+JMJ+ Glimmers of Grace was released one year ago today. I am deeply humbled and immensely grateful for your support, feedback, and help in spreading the word about God’s healing power and grace. Thank you in a special way to all you prayer warriors out there!

Whenever I hear someone's story of a traumatic experience, I have a deep-down desire to "break off" a piece of the peace and healing God has blessed me with and share it with them. The desire I have felt in my heart ever since my meeting with Pope Benedict XVI back in 2008 is to help show others that healing IS possible, that there is always hope, and that it is made possible through faith. The other aspects of healing (therapy, self-care, affirmations, etc) are vitally important (absolutely!!!) but including God and putting Him at the center of everything makes all the difference.

Coming forward publicly about any kind of personal adversity is not what God calls all of us to do and allowing myself to be vulnerable has been indescribably difficult at times. Please know that this is a calling I do not take lightly. I am constantly praying about this and reassessing whether this is what God wants of me. I hope I am heeding the sound of His voice and answering His call! Please continue your prayers for me and for my family.

Sometimes I struggle with the mission God has set before me but I have come to appreciate everything I learn on a daily basis. My relationship with God continues to grow and I pray that Glimmers of Grace has inspired you to do the same.

Make no mistake, this isn't about "me." All of this - everything I try to do on social media, on my blog, and in my book - is about sharing the light of Jesus. It's about sharing about His tremendous gifts, about His unfailing love, grace, mercy, and goodness. Although I feel called to share certain elements of my personal journey with you, it is for the greater glory of God and for no enjoyment of my own. We are all called (although in different ways) to be beacons of God’s light in one way or another!

Our Lord wants you to know that no matter what you are suffering, you are never alone. He waits for you with open arms, just waiting to embrace you. He yearns to help you carry your crosses! Alone you can only do so much. With Jesus, there is always hope and with Him anything is possible. Never underestimate the power of the smallest seed of faith!

That is the message I pray resonates with others, especially those who are suffering.

You are loved. You are precious and so valuable. Your voice matters. Your story matters. Your witness matters. Your scars may feel like the enemy but God can and will use them for good. He speaks through our deepest wounds. Remember that God is the answer to restoring what is broken. He can bring so much beauty from our brokenness!

Thank you, my dear friends, for joining me and so many others on this journey towards greater faith and healing.
